K’stan 101- When?

This should be a shorter post, so get out and enjoy this balmy 30 degree day!!

As of right now, I’m scheduled to fly to staging somewhere in the US (probably Pennsylvania or DC) on March 26th. I will only be there for a day or two before flying on to Kyrgyzstan. Then our group will have Pre-Service Training (PST)…one of many acronyms you will become familiar with, I’m sure. Training lasts 8-12 weeks. Once we past muster, we are swarn in as volunteers and sent to our permanent sites for 2 years.  During training, I will have a final interview and find out where I will be posted.  Total time of service= 27 months.

I will be getting my addresses to a few of you but will NOT be posting it on this blog. For my safety and that of other PCVs (Peace Corps Volunteers), we are instructed not to make our exact whereabouts known. However, feel free to email me, and we’ll find a way to stay connected. I’m gonna really love getting mail and *ah-hum* care packages – thanks in advance mom and dad ;)

That’s it for now. Next time I’ll let you in on the question you’ve all been wondering…WHY?
